Formal Portrait of Bride And Groom In Meadow Yosemite Wedding

Your Dream Yosemite Wedding: Formal Portraits of the Bride and Groom in a Meadow

A Yosemite wedding is a truly magical event. Nestled in the Sierra Nevada mountains, Yosemite National Park offers a stunning natural backdrop for your special day. And what could be more romantic than Exchange your vows surrounded by towering evergreens, cascading waterfalls, and granite cliffs?

Of course, a Yosemite wedding wouldn't be complete without some formal portraits of the bride and groom. And there's no better place to take those portraits than in a meadow. With its wildflowers, tall grasses, and scenic mountain views, a meadow is the perfect place to capture the natural beauty of your wedding day.

When to Take Your Formal Portraits
The best time to take your formal portraits is during the "golden hour." This is the hour just before sunset when the light is soft and flattering. The golden hour will vary depending on the time of year, but it typically falls somewhere between 5:00 pm and 7:00 pm.

If you're having a summer wedding, we recommend taking your formal portraits earlier in the day—around 4:00 pm. This will ensure that you don't get too hot in your wedding dress or suit. Trust us, you don't want to be sweating in your wedding photos! However, if you're having a winter wedding, you may want to wait until closer to sunset so that you can take advantage of the softer light.

What to Wear for Your Formal Portraits
For your formal portraits, we recommend that the bride wear her gown and veil and the groom wear his suit or tuxedo. This is a great opportunity to really show off your wedding attire! If you have any special family heirlooms or accessories that you'd like to incorporate into your portrait session, now is the time to do it.

Your hair and makeup should also be done to perfection. This is not the time for a casual updo or natural makeup look. You want your hair and makeup to be just as beautiful as your dress—maybe even more so! If you're not comfortable doing your own hair and makeup, we recommend hiring a professional hair and makeup artist for your big day.

We hope this post has inspired you to consider taking some formal portraits of the bride and groom in a meadow during your Yosemite wedding! With its wildflowers, tall grasses, and scenic mountain views, a meadow is the perfect place to capture the natural beauty of your special day. Trust us, these are memories that you'll cherish for a lifetime!
